The Master of Huna Ceremonies

Quotes by Kahuna Lani

Love is the desire to become “one” with.

Character is the ability to carry out a worthy decision after the emotions driving the decision have disappeared.

We are here to live a dramatic, heroic life.

In all ethical situations, the fear-choice is the growth-choice.

As we can’t fight the Universe, we may as well cooperate.  Our approval isn’t required.

Death is a tool to make us stronger and wiser.

Affiliation over acquisition.

Wimps support Evil.

What they get is inevitable.

Aumakuas just want us to be kind to each other.

Self-righteousness is an obstacle.

The Universe is like a three-legged stool — with one leg missing.

Nothing guarantees success. Giving-up guarantees failure.

Boredom is the most powerful emotion in nature which forces you into action.

Paranoia is the development of psychic faculties in an unbalanced way.

If you feel lonely or frustrated, it’s because you’ve decided to be a guest here and you’re not being served well.

The Universe is always right.

Tithing is the submission to the nurturing power of your Aumakua.

Evil knows it’s evil.

The future is made from the dreams of the innocent and the prayers of the wise.

There are only two things that defeat the opposition: unbreakable will and absolute purity.

You can’t be in your senses and worry at the same time.

Do not hurt if holding is enough.

Do not maim if wounding is enough.

Do not kill if maiming is enough.

If something is worth doing, it is worth doing badly.

Only fight for what you love.

Never fight against something.

When you submit to something immortal, pure, and worthy, then you perceive yourself to be immortal, pure, and worthy.

An attack on another human is an act of an unhealthy mind.

Realizing is more important than theorizing.

The Universe ignores people who give up and rewards people who suffer to get what they want.

Death is our final friend.

Any decision we make will involve frustration, pain, and challenge.

To experience yourself as the source of your life, you must be willing to be uncomfortable.

The love of your Aumakua can’t be earned; can’t be lost.  It’s yours for the asking.

The Universe doesn’t care who pays the price, only that it is paid.

You get self-esteem by righteous action.

Look for similarities to approve rather than differences to condemn.

Operating out of fear and hate corrupts you.

Adjust your personality to carry you forward towards your goal.

Stress causes detachment from the Universe.

Awake people have very good and very bad experiences.

If you can be controlled by pain, you will be.

If you can be controlled by fear, you will be.

There is one and only one fear: “I can’t handle it.”

Live a passionate life.  You can’t sneak up on death safely.

There are two kinds of communications:  statements of love and cries for help.

Entering into service is the surrender of self to something you believe is higher than yourself.

Children want Justice.

Adults want Mercy.

The decision to be happy is the decision to apply the technique of appreciation.

When faced with the fulfillment of a need, we reject it rather than be disappointed.

Choose to participate in your life.

You can be happy if you want to.

To serve is to take control of your life so that there is so much abundance, all you want to do is help others have the same.

Normal people live lives of unrelenting misery.

You can not choose to do less than you can, nor can you choose to be less than you are with impunity.

Honesty is communicating what you believe to be true on the outside.

Integrity is communicating what you believe to be true on the inside.

Comfort is the enemy of growth.

Counseling Rules:

Never offer an opinion unless asked.

If an opinion is worthy, be paid for giving it.

When you are connected to truth you have faith.  This does not allow suffering.

The only way to learn is by making mistakes.

Reality is a very complicated thing.

You have no right to be frustrated when the entire world is here to enjoy.

When someone says, “I’m bored,” it means, “I’m not engaged with life.”

When someone says, “I don’t know who I am,” it means, “I don’t have a religion.”
When someone says, “I don’t have any self-esteem,” it means,
“I haven’t done much to be proud of.”

The uhane can do two things:

discern truth and

appreciate beauty.

Evil is in the world because it is successful.

You only have free will at those particular times when it can change your life.

Religion is what you look to for ultimate truth.

As long as you have beliefs, you can be torn away from them.

We are here voluntarily.  We can choose to have a good time or to have a bad time.
